IOLs

Purpose: To evaluate results of double set-up technique for
the management of subluxated IOL Methods: From March 1997
to October 2001, I have experinced 18 eyes diagnosed as IOL sub-
luxation or dislocation. A retrospective study was designed to be
evaluated. In all cases, after infusion port was set up through pars
plana sclerotomy, limbal approach was performed ("Double set-
up"). Results: In 18 eyes, management techniques for the sub-
luxated IOLs were IOL repositioning in the ciliary sulcus using
the remaining capsular material (4 eyes), IOL repositioning with
scleral suture fixation (6 eyes), IOL exchange with scleral suture
fixation (8 eyes). UCVA was improved in all eyes. No case lost
BCVA in this series. Postoperative Complications included tempo-
rary increased IOP, hyphema, vitreous hemorrhage, but there was
no choroidal detachment or retinal detachment. Conclusions: In
the eyes with IOL subluxation, Double set-up technique is safe
and effective manipulation with which we can prevent and get
over many problems during surgery.
