Welcome to the German Society for Cataract & Refractive Surgeons (GSCRS)

The German Society for Cataract & Refractive Surgeons (GSCRS) was founded in 1986 as a European, German-speaking society of cataract and refractive surgeons.

The GSCRS promotes non-profit association of scientific and practical activity in the field of intraocular lenses and implantation of cataract and refractive surgery of the eye through the exchange of scientific knowledge and practical experience and suggestions of scientific papers.

The GSCRS also deepen international contacts to aim on the dual membership in the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS). Thanks to the commitment of Europeans succeeded from 1996 equal footing with the Americans, the largest circulation ophthalmic surgical scientific journal, the Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (impact factor 2.285 in 2008) surrendered.
