The evolution of the square edge for the

The evolution of the intraocular square edge will be reviewed since
the first Ridley’s original IOLs to the frosted edge, OptiEdge, and the
enhanced edge. The major suggested mechanisms of the square edge
for the prevention of posterior capsule opacification will also be
reviewed.
