Hydrophilic acrylic IOL as a drug delivery
system for the fourth generation
fluoroquinolones
Kleinmann G
Tel Aviv (Israel)
Using pre-soaked hydrophilic acrylic intraocular lens as a drug delivery
system for the fourth generation fluoroquinolones was suggested
as a new and novel method to achieve high concentration of
these antibiotics in the anterior chamber after cataract surgery intending
to reduce the rate of post operative bacterial endophthalmitis.
The author will review his ongoing research in this subject.
