This presentation (video) describes how to treat the common
complication of vitreous loss during cataract surgery: 1st step: Stain the
vitreous with Triamcinolone or depo-Medrol. The vitreous becomes
visible. 2nd step: Remove all the stained vitreous from the anterior
structures using bimanual technique through two stab incisions:
one hand holds the irrigation, the other hand the 25-G vitreotom
(0.6 mm). When the vitreotom is activated cuts the vitreous, when is
inactivated aspirates the remaining lens material like the usual
aspiration tip. The function is determined by the foot-pedal each time
(two instrumants in one). Never use the main incision.
