New Concepts in Pathophysiology and
Treatment of Glaucoma

Glaucoma as an enigmatic disease has seen promising progress in
the domain of pharmacological development especially in the last
30 years. Surgical Management has been plagued by lack of progress
in the prevention of complications following such procedures as
trabeculectomy and valves to control intra ocular pressure. By careful
evaluation of three anatomical structures viz. The trabecular
meshwork, canal of Schlemm and Collector channels it has become
clear that early detection and early surgical intervention can lead to
a very high success rate and low complication rate. This has centered
around a concept of restoring normal physiological a aqueous outflow
through the trabecular meshwork canal of Schlemm and collector
channels. The development of this concept will be demonstrated by
means of high quality video presentation of progress in
this field with follow ups as long as 18 years, across all examples of
glaucoma with emphasis on the latest findings. There is overwhelming
evidence to suggest that the disease can be cured.
