3 Years of Presbyopia Surgery with a Toric Bifocal MICS IOL (BIOL) after Coaxial Microincision Cataract Surgery (CO-MICS)
Background: Eyes with an astigmatism more than 1.0D were not the best indication for MIOL in the past. Material and Method: We implanted a toric, bifocal MICS IOL (Acri.LISA TD, Carl Zeiss Meditec) after CO-MICS through a 1.5 – 1.8mm incision in about 100 eyes. Refraction, videokeratoscopy, Pentacam, IOL Master, IOL orientation VA and a patient questionaire were documented up to 3 years.
Results: More than 90% of patients did not need glasses any more. The results especially in very high astigmatism and ametropia are very satisfying. Conclusion: Due to its high predictability and patient satisfaction CO-MICS and the implantation of Acri.LISA TD IOL became a routine procedure in our presbyopia care.
